What is important to you, for your client to feel, when working with you?

Edelys strives to make her therapy room feel like a second home; a safe and welcoming space where clients can be their true selves. She wants every child and teen to feel free to express their thoughts, feelings, and creativity without fear of judgment or pressure to be anyone other than who they are.

Who do you believe you are for a client as they manage their problems?

Edelys often calls herself a “human diary,” as she provides a safe space where clients can share their deepest thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. She listens with empathy and understanding, helping clients feel heard, validated, and supported as they process their experiences.

What drives your passion for seeing clients?

Edelys is driven by the belief that every child and teen deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood. Her passion comes from witnessing her clients’ growth; seeing them heal, find their voice, and build the confidence to face life’s challenges with resilience and hope.

How do you believe clients "get better"?

Edelys believes clients "get better" when they feel safe enough to explore their emotions and begin to understand themselves on a deeper level. Healing happens through consistency, trust, and the courage to show up authentically in the process, even when it feels uncomfortable.

"Enter into children’s play, and you will find the place where their minds, hearts, and souls meet." Virginia Axline

This quote beautifully reflects Edelys’ therapeutic style, as she believes that play is the language through which children express their emotions, process experiences, and begin to heal.
