Psychiatry

Medication for mental health can be one of the biggest taboos in our society. But just as we must sometimes take medicine for our body's ailments, psychiatric care can help bring relief to what and how we are feeling.

At MIS, we lead through an integrative approach and look at your overall health from a holistic perspective. We make sure to support you through the process while taking medication with regular check-ins to make sure everything is on track.

How Does Psychiatry Work?

Our collaborative psychiatrists work for you and with you. We will sit with you and hear your story, your struggle, to help you find the best options. Our psychiatrists take on an integrative approach, working with your therapist to make sure you are supported every step of the way.

Here, you are not a number. We take pride in caring for every individual in our MIS community like our own family.

Why should we go consider a psychiatrist?

Psychiatrist are viewed as the web between the medical world and the therapy world. Psychiatrists have studied to become Medical Doctors while specializing in Mental Health concerns and learning the best medications available to support you through your journey.

When is the best time to seek help?

Anytime. Psychiatrists provide support. That support may be in the form of talking or in the form of medication. Mental health concerns are real, and medication is no sign of weakness. It is a way to stabilize and get your head above water as you conquer your struggles.

I'm worried, I've never been to a psychiatrist before.

That makes sense. When you contact MIS, you will often reach Dr. Monterroso, that will talk with you to get a better understanding of what to expect before you ever walk into the room. During your call, we work to help you understand the process. Your comfort is our number one priority, and we work with you to help you get to a place where you feel comfortable enough to share your life, your history, and your goals with us.
