Now approaching the completion of his bachelor’s degree, he is excited to continue his education and pursue a master’s degree, with the goal of expanding the ways he can help clients succeed. Looking toward the future, Henry aspires to open a clinic where he can provide support to a wider range of cases. What is important to you, for your client to feel, when working with you?

The most important foundation of the therapeutic relationship is mutual respect and trust between you and your client. Equally important is establishing clear boundaries to ensure that the client does not become overly dependent on you.

Who do you believe you are for a client as they manage their problems?

I believe I am someone clients can turn to for support and feel comfortable being open with, especially during difficult times. At the same time, I must be prepared to set boundaries.

What drives your passion for seeing clients?

The progress a client makes is always worthwhile. The end results are equally rewarding, as they highlight how far the client has come and the extent to which they have developed and mastered both new and existing skills.

How do you believe clients "get better"?

I believe clients improve when they are offered the right support and given opportunities to continue advancing. It is equally important to have patience with them and to ensure that their activities remain engaging and meaningful.
