Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Janelys Castro is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who brings over a decade of experience, leadership, and compassion to the families she serves. Since becoming certified in 2017, Janelys has worked across diverse settings—including homes, clinics, schools, and community environments—supporting children, teens, and their caregivers with evidence-based interventions that make a meaningful impact.
She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. Her clinical focus includes reducing challenging behaviors, teaching functional communication, enhancing social skills, and promoting independence across developmental stages.
As the ABA Program Director at MIS Therapy, Janelys oversees program development and clinical quality, ensuring families receive care that is individualized, effective, and rooted in respect.
In her role as Director of SOAR Academy, Janelys leads a therapeutic early education program built on the core belief of “Seeing Others As Remarkable.” Her vision is to create a safe, inclusive space where children who don’t fit the traditional mold are empowered to thrive—in school, in relationships, and in life.
Janelys is known not just for her expertise, but for her heart: she believes in meeting every learner where they are, and helping them—and their families—rise with dignity, support, and purpose.

What is important to you, for your client to feel, when working with you?
When working with clients, it is of the utmost importance that they feel safe and heard.
Who do you believe you are for a client as they manage their problems?
My goal is for my clients to see me as a coach/advocate to help them manage their problem.
What drives your passion for seeing clients?
I have always loved working with children and find joy in seeing clients fostering independence and generalizing skills.
How do you believe clients "get better"?
Clients work and make progress at their own pace. I like to think of them as small victories towards a greater goal.
